Dawn Mills Campbell, Board Member

Dr. Dawn Mills Campbell is an assistant professor of English at Benedict College. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Benedict College; a paralegal certificate from Midlands Technical College; a certificate in professional fundraising from Boston University; a Master of Professional writing from Chatham University; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education administration from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Campbell is active in the community where she holds several civic memberships and serves as a trustee on several boards, including Midlands Arts Conservatory, Historic Columbia, and W. L. Bonner College. Dr. Campbell is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a freelance writer, and president and chief creative officer for New Dawning Publications, having published more than 40 books for local authors. As a member of Refuge Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Columbia, Dr. Campbell is a licensed senior missionary; a member of the Voices of the Temple Inspirational Choir, the Ministers’ and Deacons’ Wives Guild, and the Women’s Council; and works as secretary to the pastor, Bishop Sylvester K. Reid. Dawn resides in Hopkins, SC with her husband, Stevenson Campbell, and they have seven children and six grandchildren. She is the daughter of Diane Mills White and the late Henry Clay Mills.
