Natalie Lee Jane Kaufman, Board Member

Lee Jane has a long history of involvement in education, retiring after almost 40 years as a USC professor of international law and human rights.  She enjoys working with students of all ages and especially likes helping them discover the many interconnections between art, literature, math, science, and social studies.  Her community involvement has included receiving a grant from the U.S. Department of Education for a teacher-enrichment program for Richland One and serving on the Board of the Nickelodeon Theatre, focusing on community outreach and education.  She has two very happy grandchildren attending MAC:  Max Hevener in the 7th grade and Natalee Kaufman in the 6th grade.  Her academic background is a B.A.with Honors in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.  She has written or edited eight books on International Human Rights, including three on the Rights of the Child, and co-authored a ninth book--an analysis of the best selling detective series by Sue Grafton entitled G Is For Grafton.
